State to provide internet connectivity to all counties

Information Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has assured that the Jubilee administration is committed to connecting all the 47 counties with reliable internet services. 


Citing the ongoing ambitious installation of fiber cable networks linking major towns in the country, Dr Matiang’i said the aim is to digitize all the critical segments of the economy with a view to spurring faster development in the country.

The Government, said Dr. Matiang’i, will continue to pursue and enact policies, initiatives and programs to empower many Kenyans and especially the youth on online technology.

The CS added that the administration was also keen to facilitate internet connectivity in all the devolved regions with the ultimate aim of making the services more affordable and accessible to the population.

Dr. Matiangi was speaking at Kanyawanga High School in Rongo Constituency, Migori County where he was the chief guest during the School’s Education-cum-Prize giving day.
